I bought this phone along with a UWT SIM card for use on a trip to Italy. The only problem I had was the phone was set to German when I received it! And the instructions are very slight and won’t tell you how to switch languages. Also, it comes with a charger with a European plug, so if you want to charge it before you leave the states, you’ll need an adapter. I managed to charged the phone and switch to English before I left (google translations sure helped!). If this happens to you, here’s how to change the language:
First, the keypad locks after a few seconds of inactivity – press the star key for a couple of seconds to unlock.
Second, push the “OK” key to get the menu.
Third, navigate to the lower right corner menu item and press “OK”
Fouth, scroll down to the 4th menu item and press “OK”
Fifth – the first item in the next menu is language – press “OK” and you should see “english” as one of the options – scroll down to “english” and press “OK” – that’s it!
Other than this, the phone worked great while I was in Europe – call quality was fine, the battery lasted for several days, and the phone is small and light.

I received this phone as a gift from my girlfriend to take on an overseas trip. The phone worked great and when I was there I was able to save a lot of money by buying a local SIM card. The price of the phone was way paid off in comparison to the amount of money I saved on calls by getting local SIM.
As per the negative comment below, yes the phone is 900/1800 and will not work in the USA but if you check (and you should read the info of what you are buying before you do) under the product features the first two lines clearly says:
* This unlocked cell phone will NOT work on any USA Carries. Not all carrier features may be supported.
* Unlocked Dual-Band GSM cell phone compatible with 900/1800MHz frequencies plus GPRS/EDGE data capabilities (NOT FOR USA).
Great little phone and a super low price. Great buy!!! Totally recommend it for use overseas.

I recently went to the UK and Ireland. I brought along this phone (which doesn’t work in the US). I purchased a SIM card for 10 Euro at one of the many mobile phone shops. They even installed it and activated it for me. Worked perfectly for keeping in touch with my friends and travel companions!
